Mr Reid is theimmediate past chief executiveof he Federal peak body for aged care and seniors housing Leading Age Services Australia.And MrFitzgerald was the managing partner of KPMG Wollongong for over 20 years.

IRT chairMike Halloran said their experiencewould make a valuable contribution.“The IRT Board is committed to diversifying our skills and equipping ourselves for the future. We intend to continue the legacy that has enabled this community-owned organisation to flourish for 50 years”.

“To do this in the face of changing customer expectations, increased competition and new technology will require our Board to epitomise the IRT culture of customer centricity and innovation,” Mr Halloran said.

“Together with our current Directors, Patrick and Peter will help to guide the organisation to continued prosperity so we can keep improving the lives of older Australians.”

Mr Reid has an intimate knowledge of the aged care sector and was along-term member of the Australian Government’s Aged Care Sector Committee and chairman of the Government’s Aged Care Workforce Advisory Group.

He is presently a member of the ACT Ministerial Advisory Council on Ageing.

He is also a pharmacist and partner of the Capital Chemist Group.

And has held senior board roles with the Pharmacy Guild and Pharmaceutical Society of Australia.

Mr Fitzgerald worked with many of the largest organisations in the region during his time at KPMG.

He has a strong focus on strategic risk management and a close knowledge of IRT and its businesses.

He is presently a Director of Peoplecare Health Insurance Fund, a member of the Council of the University of Wollongong and chair of the University Council’s Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee.
